Hi, I decided to print this beautiful model - so I will be posting some questions as I dig deeper. I am using an Ultimaker 2+, grey metallic and white PLA. I already have all the needed hardware and bearings (but I will be sure to try YnvHrs bearings also). I will also be glad to post some of my settings to help anyone that goes for this challenge.

  1. SPINNER TIP: Basic settings, full speed, no supports, 30% infill (grid). Printed one side with a steeper angle than the other - this is because Ultimaker does not have its fans centered around the extruder. I lowered the speed to 40% and it printed just fine. UPDATE: I posted a picture of the 3 different settings I tried for the SPINNER TIP (just like they came out of the printer without any post processing). The middle one is OK, although it has a little hickup in the front part where the printer goes to the next XY line. After the entire spinner is done I think a little sanding will do the trick.

QUESTION: Does the FAN need extra slicer generated supports or are the custom supports enough to do the job? When I turn on supports in Cura 4.0 it looks like a big mess I will have to clean up afterwards.
