I didn't show this in the video but i keep the lid of the box semi open so it can naturally vent air so no fan but it can certainly be added as the board is capable of controlling a fan via g-code. I dry my abs and nylon at 100 degrees C and I have no meltdown - just drying faster - of course i keep the spool at a distance of 10 mm using a honeycomb pattern filled circle. The temperature monitoring system is actually built in by using a termistor and PID controller from the firmware - that way i keep it nice and steady with no fluctuations over time. It is by no means a professional solution, merely a tinkerer solution. Btw - i constructed and have in operation a second unit and both are working just fine.
