Doing a pre-extruder setup seems to be a fiddly task. Both stepper motors will run the same rotational speed if connected in parallel, but I wonder if the drive gears effective diameter will always be equal on both extruders. Minor differences in the filament diameter or idler pressure could change the effective diameter on the drive gear and therefore the extruding speed. Under some circumstances this could lead to a "breaking" pre-extruder, putting a bigger load on the regular extruder than without. But I'm interested in your results. Did it work as expected?
