Got one printed with 1.75mm Prusa supplied PLA at 0.20mm normal detail. No fusing. I think the trick is to slightly twist the horizontal tension bar along it's length with a pair of pliers first - just to introduce a bit of give - before cranking the arm back. This is what I did since suspected it would snap if I'd just tried to pull the arm straight back, would have needed more force than it could stand.
