I thought I just typed one of these. :) I'm a classically trained Industrial Technologist - in Design. Despite that, I graduated college during the original "trickle down recession"
I was also on the bleeding edge of the new IT, Information Technology. Funny thing, plaid is the required form of dress in both.
I was an Advanced Hobbyist in AppleBASIC. I had a friend that was sighted impaired. I would "un-impaired" applications and arranged his screen objects, for his Speach Synthesizer on his Apple 2e, & 2gs.
I started my formal IT carrier at the Campus Mainframe Support Desk @ uiowa.edu.
I progressed, proceded up the IT ladder. Eventually working for a World 5 corporation - Siemens, and a world 100 corporation - Rockwell-Collins (the commercial & defense avionics provider)
In those 30 years, I kept up with my Design tools, I lost my Leroy Lettering Device. To making advertising copy for National Speciality Magazines. Using OpenSource Tools.
I'm a practicing Fiber Artist. Working in 3D design medium. Spinning wool into yarn, and weaving. I thought an inexpensive step into 3D printing would make a good "next"
I have a Moprice Mini v.1, and Ender 3 both running OctoPie, on a Raspberry Pi 2b, 3b. That may be an overly powerful device. MAKE SURE you have the appropriate Cura 15.04 ".ini" file. They are too difficult to find. If I figure out my GitHub profile, I'll put them there. These are the only ones for my printers. I'll start there... & will post the URL here eventually.
Renderings are always less than 10 seconds. I'm not sure a Model A, B, B+, PiZeroW is up to the task, but an A+ 2B, of course, a 3B or 3B+ is high-end platforms they should be more than plenty. I was one of the first 5000 users of the Rpi B's in the world.
I'll stop, you may wipe the blood from your eyes.
