Bought an Anycubic Kossel Plus printer to reproduce a childhood 1970’s plastic toy that is starting to degrade for my daughter to continue to enjoy! Hopefully I can learn to model some of her favorite tv characters that don’t exist as merchandise for her to play with as well.
Bought a second printer - the cheapest dual extrusion kit I could find in Canada, and SUPER happy it was not my first kit printer. The TEVO Tarantula is a horrible minimalist diy printer - but is relatively cheap, so if you’re OK with wasting lots of time and money, it can be slowly be transformed into a device you can print with but is prone to fail due to terrible electrical design. Took me a week of evenings to assemble and get printing and a couple days of troubleshooting clogging and jamming, which was all new territory! I’ve got a few recommended upgrades like dual z stepper and aluminum y plate and a linear y rail on the way and will be printing replacement parts for the silly included laser cut acrylic that you can’t even tighten up bolts to or it shatters. Full warranty coverage only lasts 7 days, so better build it FAST to check it for missing / defective parts or operating problems. NOT a recommended 3D printer/company: STAY AWAY from TEVO!!!
